These are the most charming chocolate eggs you will find, and a perfectly indulgent gift for someone special! A beautifully illustrated box filled with a dozen delicious "Kingfisher" chocolate eggs, made in France containing mouth-watering hazelnut praline.

With artwork by Madeleine Floyd, illustrator of the beautiful book ‘Birdsong’, each box is a work of art in itself before you even open it!

The Chocolate Detective takes her magnifying glass and examines every piece of chocolate. With her years of knowledge and experience, she can guide the way between the most ethical and delectable chocolate with utmost transparency.

Chantal Coady OBE is the Chocolate Detective. A sustainable chocolate expert, founder of Rococo Chocolates and lifelong chocolate activist.

Although these may not quite be twitcher-accurate, these puffin eggs are part of the Chocolate Detective’s Curated Collection – her very favourite products from a lifetime of tasting chocolate.

The Chocolate Detective writes,

The Kingfisher cuts a dash with his electric blue plumage and rusty-orange under feathers and is dazzling when seen in flight, often zig-zagging along the riverbank.

Artwork is by Madeleine Floyd who has two lovely books of bird illustrations, ‘Birdsong’ and ‘Chickens, Ducks and Geese.’

Ingredients: WHITE OR GREEN EGGS: sugar, Ecuador cocoa mass, praline 15% (HAZELNUTS, sugar), cocoa butter, whole MILK powder, LACTOSE, concentrated butter (MILK), coating agents, (gum arabic, Carnauba wax, beeswax, shellac), starches, cocoa powder, emulsifier: SOYA lecithin, glucose syrup, colouring ingredients (spirulina, apple and safflower concentrate, and malted BARLEY extract), salt, natural vanilla flavouring, colouring: E160a. BROWN OR BLUE EGGS: sugar, Ecuador cocoa mass, caramel 12% (sugar, water, dextrose), whole MILK powder, cocoa butter, concentrated butter (MILK), glucose syrup, coating agents (gum arabic, Carnauba wax, beeswax, shellac), starches, emulsifier: SOYA lecithin, colouring foodstuffs (spirulina, apple, safflower, lemon, sweet potato and radish concentrates, malted BARLEY extract), “fleur de sel” salt, natural vanilla flavouring. Milk chocolate contains 30% cocoa min, 19% milk min. Dark chocolate contains 52% cocoa.

While we do normally adhere strictly to our Made In The UK ethos, these eggs are made in France, as no chocolate maker in the UK can make the eggs to the Chocolate Detective's exacting standards, so she had to source from a maker from our near neighbours - we're sure you'll agree that they are worth the little detour!
