Otter Iron On Patch

Celebrate your love for Britain's beloved riverside mammals with the Eurasian Otter patch by The Adventure Patch Company, beautifully curated for the nature enthusiasts at Grace & Favour Home. Whether you are a seasoned hiker customising your outdoor gear or looking for a meaningful gift for a budding zoologist, this patch brings a touch of wild British heritage into your everyday style.

Inspired by vintage nature journal illustrations, this retro woven patch features an intricate depiction of the Eurasian Otter alongside its scientific Latin name (Lutra lutra), giving it a wonderful, old-school textbook aesthetic. It is a stylish nod to classic field guides that makes it a great talking point for pub quizzes or outdoor meetups.

The Eurasian Otter is a true icon of healthy British waterways. Perfectly adapted for a life on the water, these sleek semi-aquatic mammals are incredible swimmers. They feature dense, waterproof fur, webbed feet, a powerful rudder-like tail, and the unique ability to completely close their ears and nose when diving underwater to hunt for fish and crustaceans.

Once facing severe declines across the UK in the mid-20th century due to pesticide pollution, the species has made a remarkable conservation recovery thanks to cleaner rivers and dedicated protection efforts. Naturally shy, elusive, and solitary, spotting an otter in the wild is a rare treat—making this patch the perfect token to celebrate a memorable river walk, a successful wildlife-watching trip, or simply your admiration for a resilient British predator
