Join us for a wonderful morning exploring ceramic buttons with Tina from Shaldon Pottery Studio this workshop takes place on Wednesday 12th June at 10am
During this three hour workshop, Tina will lead the way as you work with fine porcelain to create six to ten buttons of your own design. She will give you step by step guidance of forming the pieces, impressing or stamping patterns, and finally adding colour using underglazes, to create your unique buttons that can then be used for clothing, or as feature buttons on shawls/hats etc!
This workshop is suitable for total beginners and those with some experience and all materials and tools will be provided, though you are welcome to bring lace or other textures to use if you wish! Please wear clothes you don't mind getting messy - you may wish to bring an apron as well!
After the session, Tina will carefully transport your work back to her studio to be dried, fired in the kiln in a bisque firing, glazed and then fired again. This process takes 2-3 weeks in total. You will then be able to collect your finished pieces either from the shop or Tina, or postage can be arranged for a small fee.
